What is cognitive behavioral therapy?

Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT) is based on the concept that our emotions are based on our thoughts .  Our thoughts stem from perceptions that have been shaped by our experience and impact our behavior.  If we can identify these thoughts  (which are often negative) and examine their source and meaning we may be able to better manage their impact on our emotions and behaviors and move forward.  CBT is an evidence based therapy for depression and anxiety.


 


What is psychodynamic therapy?

Our thoughts and emotions, sense of self and feelings of worthiness among other facets of our personhood are molded from our childhood, family relationships and past experiences.   In therapy, we explore these areas as needed so that we can develop a better understanding of our present selves.

What is mindfulness therapy?

Mindfulness therapies are varied in their  approaches but the overall focus is to provide  awareness of our inner self within the context of our environment.


Mindfulness therapies are used to manage stress , help with  pain, and  sleep problems as well as provide grounding during crisis.

These therapies can be used for gaining insight and self-knowledge which help with problem solving.


Mindfulness therapies are used when they are a match for the patient and circumstance.

Telehealth Services

We are currently seeing patients through telehealth.  

Individual Therapy

What to expect

First  Intake Session  60 minutes     

  This session will involve understanding your symptoms, concerns and issues.  We will identify goals and  objectives towards developing your wellness plan.


Individual Therapy Sessions   45-60 minutes.  

    Subsequent sessions will involve using the appropriate modalities (CBT, psychodynamic, mindfulness therapies) that are best suited for helping you reach your goals and objectives. 


Consultation/Palliative Care Facilitation Support


Dr. Ray-Mazumder accepts payment via Venmo or credit card.

These are the Insurance plans accepted: United Health Care, Medicare
